  17.           The _f_i_l_t_e_r_p_s utility corrects PostScript language documents
  18.           generated by certain applications. The corrected documents
  19.           can then be used by the Adobe ShowPS previewer, by programs
  20.           in the TranScript package, or by any other program that
  21.           requires strict adherence to the PostScript language
  22.           document structuring conventions (DSC).

  24.           The _f_i_l_t_e_r_p_s utility determines what program generated
  25.           _o_l_d_f_i_l_e.  If a corresponding filter exists, _f_i_l_t_e_r_p_s invokes
  26.           it on _o_l_d_f_i_l_e and generates a file that strictly conforms to
  27.           the DSC. A message tells you the type of file the program is
  28.           converting. The _f_i_l_t_e_r_p_s utility replaces _o_l_d_f_i_l_e unless
  29.           _n_e_w_f_i_l_e is specified.

  31.           If no filter is available, _f_i_l_t_e_r_p_s prints a message and
  32.           terminates.
